Full Information

Shell Martinez employees view our workplace as a diverse family. Diversity comes naturally, be it ethnic, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, education and religion.  Inclusion, however is a choice. That's why our Shell Diversity and Inclusion networks are important to us.  We have seven networks at the refinery, Milnet (Veterans), Sapeng (Asian), Vibe, M-SHEN (Martinez - Shell Hispanic Employee Network), Women's Network, Seashell (LGBTQ) and Network NeXt (Gen X’ers) .  Through these networks we share our experiences, similarities and differences and learn about each other. We believe we work happier, better and safer together when we understand and care about each other.

What about you?  What does diversity and inclusion mean to you? What are some of the challenges and opportunities that come from diversity?  What does inclusion mean to you?

In this competition we challenge you to examine the meaning of the phrase "diversity and inclusion.”  Identify what makes you and others unique, and how we can be more inclusive.   Have you ever felt excluded? How did that make you feel?  What did you learn from that experience?

We appreciate your uniqueness and we look forward to reading your thoughts.
