MEASURE Q

Voter Approved: November 6, 2018 

Effective: July 1, 2019

The District currently levies an annual parcel tax of $75 per year on each parcel of taxable real property within the District. The District's current parcel tax is set to expire on June 30, 2024.  The voters passed Measure Q in order to maintain quality education, attract and retain qualified teachers, maintain math, science, technology, engineering and reading / writing programs while protecting art and music classes, keeping school libraries open and maintaining school counselors.

 

Senior Citizen Exemption

Owner-Occupants, age 65 or older, may request an exemption from the $75.00 Parcel Tax, levied annually. Requests must be received by July 15th for the current fiscal year exemption (fiscal year: July 1 - June 30).

 

Citizens’ Oversight Committee

The Martinez Unified School District is currently seeking volunteers for the Measure Q Parcel Tax Citizens' Oversight Committee for one and two year terms. The committee meets once per semester or twice per year and reviews the budgets, expenditures, and other pertinent reports related to the Parcel Tax. All meetings, unless noted otherwise, are held in the District Office Boardroom located at 921 Susana Street at 6:30 pm.
